Roll ‘em up! Roll ‘em in! The newest LGBTQIA, non-binary, gender-neutral barbershop and hair colour specialist has arrived in Brighton! 

To introduce myself: I am Buck - Hair Extraordinaire and Owner of Lightning Like Scissors.  With over 20 yrs experience under my belt and my faithful sidekick and Co-Pirate McKenzie the rescue dog in tow, I am here on a mission. 

And it’s all about you! My aim is to provide the necessary skills and resources through my expertise in order for you to express yourself and be who you want to be! I know your hair plays a massive role in your self-identity and your confidence in presenting to the world and I am here to help your reflection in the mirror match who you are on the inside.

I am not going to go on and on about how amazing I am, and how many awards I have won (suffice to say, a lot…) I will leave the decision up to you when you come to see me. What I do want to talk about is your hair.

When you arrive for your appointment at Lightning Like Scissors (LLS), I want you to feel like you are the one in control, to feel comfortable enough to express yourself and talk about the issues which matter to you most, to not feel judged and to be your authentic self.  

Too often, I hear the same story from so many clients who have been charged more for cuts and colours based on their gender or told by ‘normal’ hairdressers/barbers, ‘you can’t have this cut/colour’, ‘that cut/colour is for a (insert gender assumption here)’ or ‘ your face won’t suit this haircut or that haircut’. In some instances, some have even being refused service based on their gender identity!

For too long we have been told by others how to wear our hair, how to dress and how to behave, to ‘fit in’. At Lightning Like Scissors we listen to what you want and offer professional advice on how to achieve the look YOU desire.
